The Boost of childlike optimism

S.S. has been God's greatest gift to me. A "big kid" of a mom herself, She taught me to drive and took me sledding for the first time ( and in my case the last time) My latest boost of superhero self-esteem came from her 9 yr old girl who tells me "Ms. Jenny you are a parent." I've had a few close calls but I have never been pregnant or adopted or foster a kid (though I would if icould afford a house and stuff that comes with the responsiblity) However man o man its not like I don't want kids I do and at least once a week a person tells me I'll be a good mommy. Four years of watching families you can see the good, bad and ugly in family. I've seen the almost perfect family Mom, Dad and 3 kids (even though God knows no one is perfect) to the troubled children who've been adopted or in foster kid. I have seen my influence in J. whos 5 and ive know since he was 2 he tells me "I love you Jennifer" talk about a tear in the eye and sigh thats where I love my job.  When I get the parents who can't respect me, my workers and my job...find another playplace.
